We keep the email address you type in. It's stored with Netlify, the shop's host, and used only to send the Digger's Sunday note. Unsubscribe any time with the link in every email, or write to us and we'll delete it.
The weekly chart
When you drop the needle, the shop counts it for the "Most dug this week" shelf: which record, never who. To count each device once a day per record, your browser keeps a random number; the shop stores only a scrambled mix of it with the record and the day, so a count can't be traced back to you or linked to your other records. The counts start over with every drop.
What stays on your device
A few things in your browser: sound on or off, how you like to listen, whether the window shows your real weather, whether you've already signed up, which Dig blind records you've unwrapped this week, and the random number and today's list of records you've counted for the chart. No cookies from DIG!, no ad tracking.
Your location
Only if you tap "Match my weather". Your browser then shares a rounded location (about 1 km) with Open-Meteo to fetch the weather. We don't keep it.
Who else is involved
Spotify plays the music: its player loads when you drop the needle, and Spotify's own privacy policy applies there. Google Fonts serves the lettering. Netlify hosts the shop and keeps standard server logs. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits (which page, the site that sent you, your country and kind of device) without cookies and without following you around the web; it never sees what you listen to. Record credits come from MusicBrainz.
What we never do
Sell your data, or share it for advertising.
